Felicia Day has long been a favorite of geeks everywhere and has proven time and again that she’s truly “one of us” as well.  As if we needed more proof that Ms. Day is the unrivaled Queen of All Things Great and Geeky she recently presented to the world a music video that’s taking the internet by storm.

Collaborating with Jed Whedon (Joss’ brother & one of the genius minds behind Dr. Horrible) on the project has produced the awesome song and video entitled I’m the One That’s Cool.  Accompanying Felicia in the video are her co-stars of the long running and hilariously genius web series The Guild which can be found along with a plethora of other geeky awesomeness on the website Geek & Sundry.

The song is about how geeks and nerds who were picked on and treated as outcasts in high school have become the truly cool people of the modern, technology-filled world.  It’s a love letter to all us geeks who had to endure miserable moments simply for being ourselves.  It’s also a huge middle finger to the narcissistic thugs whose high point in life were those four meaningless years of high school that many of them still cling pathetically to as a means of self validation.

Most importantly, the song and video are just a super concentrated mass of awesomeness and fun!  Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “He who laughs best today, will also laugh last.” (You may be more familiar with the modified, “He who laughs last, laughs best.”) and in that vein the wonderful Felicia Day gives us the the best laugh of all.

Thank you, Felicia.  Thank you!
